CONSULTATION

"It's hard to find someone who reads a script as deeply as Joan, and who researches a text with as many different tools: lots of emotions, running around a room, a broad knowledge of the history of stories, obscure classical music, perhaps a little psychic something, and on and on. What is it?

The Initial Consultation Series is the first consultation step. You will address the specific needs of your film during a series of one on one sessions with Joan.  The Series includes:

  • An introductory conversation to target your needs
  • Joan's script preparation prior to your meeting
  • Two four hour consultations

WHO GOES?

The Initial Consultation Series is designed for Filmmaking Professsionals.  It may be attended individually by the Writer, Director or Producer...or by the entire Film Team.

WHAT DOES IT COVER?

The Initial Consultation Series is designed to take your film to the next level. One on one sessions focus on the core needs of your film from script to rehearsal or shoot.  By investigating the screenplay on a structural level you discover how to build the strongest foundation from which to launch your film.  Session time is tailored for each project. It includes work to:
  • Clarify theme
  • Strengthen journey and story structure
  • Deepen character and relationships
  • Strengthen dialogue
  • Prepare for your shoot
  • Design your rehearsals
  • Explore the visual style

WHEN, WHERE, HOW MUCH?

Joan conducts Initial Consultation Series periodically throughout the year. She works in Los Angeles, New York and worldwide on Skype.
